OR Firefighters Injured in Commercial Fire

Three firefighters were injured Tuesday night in an explosion at the Stimson Lumber Mill in Gaston. One Gaston firefighter was taken to Oregon Health and Science University Hospital in Portland. One Gaston firefighter and one Yamhill firefighter were taken to Tuality Hospital in Hillsboro, all with non-life threatening injuries. All three have gone home, said volunteer spokesman Ken Bilderback.

  1. The goals of firefighting are to save victim’s lives, property, and protecting the environment. For me, firefighting is the most dangerous job in the world, since anything could happen during fire incidents. Just like what happened in this case, the explosion suddenly happened and it injured three firefighters. I hope they have insurance to help them cover their medical bills and loss of wages.
